3 Things About Medium Noteworthy
Check out Noteworthy here.
1. The platform was developed from the ground up.
Medium was looking for their answer to Vimeo’s Staff Picks, an evergreen content hub that would double as a hall of fame for their most noted voices. I led the team to craft Noteworthy’s strategy and creative direction, including the branding and naming, criteria for writer selection, rollout of the program and the content needed to capture the writers in all their glory.
2. Not branded content or ads. Noteworthy is built on short films.
Medium is a platform recognized for its measured and longform approach to storytelling, and the films had to echo that. They couldn’t be shallow. The art direction, filmic language and portraiture style had to heroize these writers, while being elastic enough to fit an array of disciplines over many years.
3. Produced in-house around the country.
Leading a team of gifted production, animation and post-prod players from SF to Oklahoma City to New York, the program came together under a tight timeline. The first seven films and profiles are currently launching this summer, with more to follow.
